Amrita is trained in theatre and dance in addition to being a social researcher and community facilitator. She is passionate about creating socially inclusive societies and focuses her work around themes of intersectional feminism and gender equity; migration, mobility, and the diasporic experience; and health equity and sustainable community development. She is a firm believer in using arts-based methods to catalyze healing, inspiration, and social change.
Amrita is also a mom to the sweetest Bengal-Tabby cat; his name is Rajah who definitely lives like a prince. Movement is her medicine – and she makes sure to dance her heart out for at least 15 minutes every day. Amrita loves to travel, and has been to 30 countries and has lived in 5. One of her most memorable recent trips was travelling solo to Maui (Hawaii), learning to surf, and driving herself up the world’s largest dormant volcano!
